“The Great American Baking Show” is expanding its reach with new seasons, specials, and spinoffs on The Roku Channel, featuring actor Andrew Rannells as the new co-host alongside Casey Wilson, Paul Hollywood, and Prue Leith.
In addition to renewing the main series for a fourth season, three offshoots have been picked up for more seasons: “The Great American Baking Show Celebrity Holiday Special” (Season 4), “The Great American Baking Show Big Game” (Season 2), and “The Great American Baking Show Celebrity Summer” (Season 2).
Roku will also start airing “The Great British Baking Show: Juniors” as a Roku original, beginning with the eighth and ninth seasons, and launch “The Great American Baking Show Celebrity Halloween Special.”
Produced by Love Productions, the “American Baking Show” franchise is overseen by Olivia LaRoche on behalf of Roku Originals.
Expanding its content library, Roku is adding Seasons 1-7 of “Juniors” and Seasons 1-9 of “Great British Baking Show: The Professionals,” along with other popular British competition series like “Great Pottery Throwdown” and “Great British Sewing Bee.”
The success of “Baking Show” on Roku can be attributed to its commitment to filming in the original tent, maintaining the chemistry between hosts and judges, and introducing fun elements like celebrity specials.
Andrew Rannells, the new co-host, will join the upcoming seasons, bringing his hosting duties to the show. Rannells expressed his excitement about joining the team permanently and joked about sticking to hosting duties rather than baking.
With the continued success of the franchise, Roku is looking to align the show with timely events like the Super Bowl and holidays to engage the audience further. The future looks bright for “The Great American Baking Show” as it continues to evolve and delight viewers with its delicious creations.
