John Hinckley Jr., the man who attempted to assassinate Ronald Reagan, has made a bold claim that his actions played a pivotal role in shaping the sexuality of actress Jodie Foster.

According to John, his failed assassination attempt on Reagan in 1981 caused trauma to Jodie, prompting her to turn away from men and identify as a lesbian. He believes that his fixation on Jodie and involving her indirectly in his deadly plan contributed to her eventual sexual orientation.

John claims that Jodie, who was previously dating men in the early 1980s, only embraced her lesbian identity after the assassination attempt. His revelation comes as he promotes his memoir, “John Hinckley Jr.: Who I Really Am.”

John’s infatuation with Jodie dates back to 1976 when he first saw her in the film “Taxi Driver.” He went to great lengths to connect with her, even obtaining her contact information while she was at Yale University.

His misguided belief that a violent act would win Jodie’s affection led him to attempt the assassination, drawing parallels between himself and the character Travis Bickle from “Taxi Driver.”

In a twisted reenactment of the movie’s plot, John believed that shooting Reagan would impress Jodie, similar to how Travis’ actions in the film were meant to win over his love interest.

In a stark deviation from the movie’s outcome, John’s attempt on Reagan’s life resulted in injuries to several individuals, including the President himself, leading to his arrest and subsequent confinement to a mental institution.

Despite his delusions and destructive actions, John maintains that the jury’s verdict of not guilty by reason of insanity was the correct decision, acknowledging his long-standing struggle with mental health issues.

Currently, John discloses that he is under medication for depression and anxiety, emphasizing the complexities of his mental state at the time of the assassination attempt.

While John’s claims may spark controversy, Jodie Foster’s representatives have chosen not to comment on his assertions, leaving the debate surrounding the intersection of obsession, violence, and sexuality to continue.
