These features help prevent thermal runaway and ensure the safe operation of the system. Additionally, system integration and battery management systems play a crucial role in monitoring and maintaining the system under normal conditions.

It is important for local governments to adopt ordinances that address battery storage siting to ensure safety and community engagement. Environmental justice communities should be actively involved in the siting process to prevent further burdening these communities with polluting energy infrastructure.
