The Galaxy S25 series has finally been unveiled at Samsung’s January 2025 Galaxy Unpacked event, and it did not disappoint. In addition to the expected Galaxy S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra models, Samsung also teased a surprise fourth model – the Galaxy S25 Edge. This marks Samsung’s return to the Edge branding for the first time since the Galaxy S7 Edge in 2016.
The release date for the Galaxy S25 Edge has not been officially confirmed, but rumors suggest a launch in May 2025 in select countries, excluding the US. The pricing is expected to fall between the S25+ and Ultra models, ranging from £999/$999.99 to £1,249/$1,299.99.
In terms of specifications, the Galaxy S25 Edge is rumored to feature a sleek and thin design, measuring just 6.4mm in thickness. It is expected to sport a 200Mp main camera, a 50Mp ultrawide camera, a 12Mp selfie camera, and a 50Mp telephoto lens with 3.5x optical zoom. The phone will be powered by a Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset paired with 12GB of RAM and will likely have a 6.7- to 6.8-inch OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate.
The battery capacity of the Galaxy S25 Edge remains a mystery, with speculation on whether it will match the 4000mAh battery of the regular S25 or go higher like the S25+ and Ultra models. Other expected features include 45W wired charging, 15W Qi wireless charging, One UI 7 software based on Android 15, and seven years of OS and security updates.
