Secretary Noem Tackles Sanctuary Cities and Illegal Immigration on “Sunday Morning Futures”

In a recent appearance on “Sunday Morning Futures” with Maria Bartiromo, Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem addressed the contentious issues surrounding sanctuary cities and illegal immigration.

Bartiromo posed a pointed question: “How are you getting to the sanctuary cities that are currently harboring illegal criminals?” She pressed further, asking if Noem had a specific list of these cities and how they might be approached.

“Indeed, we do possess that information,” Noem replied confidently. “The President has issued an executive order directing us to identify these sanctuary cities and work closely with the Department of Justice and Homeland Security to tackle the challenges they present to our national security.”

She elaborated, stating that many cities resist acknowledging their status as sanctuary locations, believing that a lack of certain laws makes them exempt. “However, they are indeed providing sanctuary to individuals who have committed crimes,” Noem asserted.

Bartiromo then shifted the discussion towards the critics of the President’s immigration policies. “What would you say to those who oppose the President’s approach?” she queried.

Noem defended the administration’s actions, emphasizing, “The President is fulfilling his campaign promises and adhering to the mandate given by the American people—to enforce the law. We are intent on executing mass deportations, particularly targeting dangerous criminals.”

She dismissed the notion that ignoring sanctuary cities would somehow benefit the workforce, calling it “absolutely ridiculous.” Noem expressed concern that many Americans have been deprived of job opportunities due to competition from illegal immigrants who have exploited taxpayer-funded housing and food assistance.

“It’s paramount that we prioritize American citizens,” Noem declared. “Our economy should thrive by ensuring that opportunities are available for those who legally reside in this country.”

In a related discussion, Bartiromo raised concerns about the Chinese Communist Party’s influence at Harvard University. “Can you explain the issue regarding Harvard and its connections to the Communist Party of China?” she asked.

Noem did not hold back, stating, “Harvard has played a role in advancing the priorities of the Chinese Communist Party. They have permitted students to engage in paramilitary activities and facilitated the flow of sensitive information back to our adversaries in Beijing.”

She further warned about the influx of foreign students, noting, “Hundreds of thousands have entered our educational institutions, often attracted by the promise of paying full tuition. This has effectively displaced opportunities for American students while allowing the perpetuation of violence on campus.”

In summary, Secretary Noem’s appearance on “Sunday Morning Futures” highlighted the administration’s firm stance on illegal immigration and the challenges posed by sanctuary cities, while also raising red flags about foreign influences in American institutions.
