On Sunday, Secretary of State Marco Rubio delivered a stirring eulogy at Charlie Kirk’s memorial, captivating a live audience of tens of thousands at State Farm Stadium and millions more tuning in globally.
Rubio commenced his address by reflecting on Kirk’s profound influence on young Americans, a demographic that appears increasingly alienated from traditional values—a ripe canvas for the paint of both hope and critique.
He articulated a central tenet of the Christian faith, asserting: “One of the key lessons we must draw from this is the palpable belief that each of us was deliberately crafted, long before the dawn of time, by the all-powerful deity who loves us and has destined us for eternity in His presence.”
“However,” he continued, “the advent of sin wrenched us from our Creator’s embrace. In response, God incarnated as a man, living among us.”
“He endured human suffering and met a mortal’s end, yet rose triumphantly on the third day. To quell any skepticism, He reunited with his disciples, allowing them to witness His wounds, evidencing His bodily resurrection.”
“He did not rise as a mere apparition but in flesh and blood. He ascended to the heavens with a promise of return, ensuring that through His sacrifice, we were liberated from the sin that had alienated us from Him.”
“When He returns, we will witness the creation of a new heaven and earth, culminating in a grand reunion with Charlie and all those we cherish.”
“Thank you, and may God bless you.”

Dear American friends,
As British Christians, we felt a flicker of excitement each year when Queen Elizabeth offered even the faintest nod to the love of Christ in her Christmas speeches. Now, watching Charlie Kirk’s memorial, I just experienced a full-fledged declaration of faith…
