Serena Williams Sets the Record Straight on Skin Bleaching Rumors
Recently, tennis superstar Serena Williams found herself at the center of skin bleaching rumors after a viral video sparked controversy. However, Williams quickly shut down the speculation and clarified the situation.
Weighing in on the topic, Williams addressed the haters and emphatically stated, “No, I do not bleach my skin.” She explained that the video in question was recorded while she was volunteering at her daughter’s play in November 2024 and was wearing stage makeup, which may have led to the confusion.
“Everyone’s like, ‘Ooh, she bleached her skin,'” Williams said. “I’m a dark, Black woman, and I love who I am, and I love how I look.” She made it clear that while she respects individuals who choose to bleach their skin, it is simply not something she has done or plans to do.
While addressing the skin bleaching rumors, Williams also emphasized that she has always been transparent about the cosmetic procedures she undergoes. In June, she shared that she had received a radio frequency treatment in Paris to tighten her stomach, showcasing her commitment to taking care of her body in a healthy and responsible manner.
