Gunshots were heard in Minneapolis early Saturday following an incident involving federal police and a man wielding a gun, as per law enforcement sources and social media videos.
A video lasting 39 seconds captured the moment when several officers were grappling with an individual outside a donut shop on 26th Street and Nicollet Avenue, just before the gunfire erupted.
The officers quickly dispersed after the shots rang out, as shown in the footage.

According to a law enforcement source, the shooting occurred after the man displayed a firearm equipped with two magazines. A photo of the firearm was shared as evidence.
In a statement, city officials advised residents to remain calm and steer clear of the area.
“We are aware of reports of another shooting involving federal law enforcement in the area of 26th Street W and Nicollet Ave. We are working to confirm additional details,” the statement read.
Over 100 protesters were present at the scene when the incident transpired. The condition of the man involved in the altercation was not immediately disclosed.

Minnesota Governor Tim Walz (D) tweeted about the incident on X on Saturday morning as more details about the shooting were emerging.
“I just spoke with the White House after another horrific shooting by federal agents this morning. Minnesota has had it. This is sickening,” he expressed.
“The President must end this operation. Pull the thousands of violent, untrained officers out of Minnesota. Now.”
Neither the White House nor the Department of Homeland Security have provided information on the circumstances leading to the shooting, and have not responded to requests for comments.
