Metro Denver Residents Advised of Significant Delays on I-70 Due to Repair Work

Metro Denver residents planning to travel for a spring weekend getaway or to celebrate Mother’s Day should be prepared for significant delays on Interstate 70, according to state officials.

The Colorado Department of Transportation has announced that repair work on a section of storm water pipe under the road will result in lane and shoulder closures on several sections of I-70.

Specifically, the left lane of eastbound I-70, the eastbound I-70 express lane, and the left shoulder of westbound I-70 between Interstate 225 and Chambers Road in Aurora will be affected by the closures.

The repair work is scheduled to take place from 8 p.m. on Friday through 5 a.m. on Monday. Drivers are advised to seek alternate routes during this time to avoid delays.
