“Spartacus: House of Ashur” has officially announced its premiere date, generating considerable buzz among fans of the franchise.

Starz revealed that the highly-anticipated sequel to the original series will launch with the first two episodes on December 5, 2025. Following this debut, new episodes will be made available weekly every Friday, exclusively through the Starz app and on all streaming and on-demand services offered by Starz.

In addition to this exciting news, Starz has shared a stunning array of first-look images from the show, giving viewers a tantalizing glimpse of the upcoming series.

The official logline for “House of Ashur” teases an intriguing storyline:

“What if Ashur (played by Nick E. Tarabay) had survived, and the Roman Empire rewarded his cunning with the very gladiator school where he once fought for survival? Welcome to the House of Ashur. No longer a slave, Ashur has clawed his way to power, now owning the ludus that once held him captive. However, ruling a band of ruthless gladiators is mere child’s play compared to navigating the treacherous landscape of Roman politics—where betrayal is not merely a sin, but a valuable commodity. Defying traditions, Ashur unleashes Achillia (portrayed by Tenika Davis), a fierce gladiatrix who is determined to carve her own path in a male-dominated world. Together, they create a new form of spectacle that shocks and offends the upper echelons of society with every drop of blood spilled.”

Alongside Tarabay and Davis, the series boasts a fantastic ensemble cast, including Graham McTavish as Korris, Jordi Webber as Tarchon, Jamaica Vaughan as Hilara, Ivana Baquero as Messia, Claudia Black as Cossutia, India Shaw-Smith as Viridia, Jackson Gallagher as Caesar, Jaime Slater as Cornelia, and Leigh Gill as Satyrus.

Steven S. DeKnight, the original creator, writer, and executive producer of the successful “Spartacus” series, returns as showrunner and executive producer for “House of Ashur,” with Rick Jacobson and Aaron Helbing also among the executive producers. The series is produced by Lionsgate Television.

“Spartacus” first graced our screens in 2010, debuting on Starz with the acclaimed season titled “Spartacus: Blood and Sand.” This was followed by the prequel series “Spartacus: Gods of the Arena” in 2011 and the subsequent seasons “Spartacus: Vengeance” in 2012 and “Spartacus: War of the Damned” in 2013.
