Mel C Sends Love to Mel B and Rory McPhee on Their Wedding Day
Former Spice Girl Mel C may have been unable to attend Mel B and Rory McPhee’s wedding, but she made sure to send her love and well wishes to the happy couple. Mel C, 51, took to her Instagram Story to express her excitement for the newlyweds, writing, “So so happy for you both and beyond gutted I couldn’t be there. Excited to celebrate with you really soon! Yippee!”
Reposting Mel B and McPhee’s joint Instagram post from their wedding day at London’s St. Paul’s Cathedral, Mel C shared the beautiful moment where the couple exchanged loving looks. The caption read, “❤️ 05.07.25.”
Rory McPhee proposed to Mel B during a romantic getaway in Berkshire, U.K. in 2022, after being together for three years. The proposal was a heartfelt moment as McPhee expressed his love and desire to spend the rest of his life with Mel B, surrounded by rose petals, a log fire, and the luxurious Cliveden hotel.
Reflecting on her past relationships, Mel B was previously married to Jimmy Gulzar and later dated Eddie Murphy before finding love with Stephen Belafonte. Despite the challenges she faced in her previous marriages, Mel B shared that Rory McPhee has helped her believe in love again.
In an interview with Us Weekly, Mel B opened up about her relationship with McPhee, stating, “Leaving that 10-year relationship, I was not looking to be in another. I was all about my kids, making sure they [were] OK and on their healing journey. Rory, a lovely family friend, is a hairdresser, so he was nurturing my curls back.”
She continued, “As [Rory] was nurturing my curls, he was nurturing my belief in love again and trust — which is a huge thing for me because the person I loved and trusted turned out to be the worst mistake I ever made. Up until two years ago, I was like, ‘You can find somebody else. I’m too broken.’ Rory goes, ‘Melanie, I’m not going anywhere. Because I absolutely love you.'”
Despite missing out on Mel B and McPhee’s special day, Mel C’s heartfelt message and support for the couple showcase the strong bond shared among the Spice Girls even after their musical journey together.
