Golden State Warriors fans will have to wait a little longer to see their star player Steph Curry back on the court, as he is set to miss his sixth consecutive game on Thursday. The two-time league MVP has been dealing with a knee injury that has kept him sidelined for the past few games, including missing Sunday’s All-Star Game.

Initially, Warriors coach Steve Kerr was hopeful that Curry would be able to rest his knee and make a return for Thursday’s game against the Boston Celtics. However, NBA insider Shams Charania revealed on a recent episode of “NBA Today” that Curry’s return timeline is now uncertain due to a condition known as “runner’s knee.”

Charania reported that an MRI on Curry’s right knee showed no structural issues, but the persistent swelling and pain in the knee have been a cause for concern. Curry has been working out individually during the All-Star break, but the pain and swelling have not subsided, making it unclear when he will be ready to return to action.

The Warriors will face the Celtics at Chase Center, with newly acquired Kristaps Porzingis expected to make his debut for Golden State. Curry’s absence on Thursday will mark his 17th missed game of the season, raising concerns about his eligibility for regular-season awards if he misses one more game.

Despite the setback, the Warriors remain optimistic about Curry’s injury, as ESPN’s Anthony Slater mentioned that the clean MRI results are a positive sign for the team. The Warriors, currently sitting at the eighth spot in the competitive Western Conference, are looking to make a push for the playoffs and will need Curry back at full strength to do so.

With a record of 29-26, the Warriors are within reach of the play-in spots but will have to make a strong push down the stretch to secure a higher seed. The team is hopeful that Curry’s injury is not serious and that he will be back on the court soon to lead them in their playoff push.

In conclusion, while Curry’s absence is a setback for the Warriors, the team remains optimistic about his recovery and eventual return to action. Fans will have to wait and see when the superstar guard will be back on the court, but the team is hopeful that he will be back in action soon.
