Carmelo Hayes has clarified the date of his upcoming wedding to a well-known WWE star, following some recent confusion. Hayes, who enjoyed a notable tenure as United States Champion, relinquished the title on WWE SmackDown this past Friday night.

During an appearance on The Battleground Podcast, Hayes spoke about his relationship with NXT star Kelani Jordan, announcing that their wedding is scheduled for October. The couple recently shared engagement photos which led many to mistakenly believe they were already married.

“It’s going good. Kelani’s handling a lot of it. She’s on top of it, and I’m giving my two cents when warranted. A lot of people thought that we already got married. I guess that was the big thing. But the wedding is in October everybody. Those were engagement photos and I’m super excited and we’re halfway there really,” he said. [H/T: Wrestling News]

On SmackDown, Sami Zayn defeated Carmelo Hayes to claim the United States Championship. Zayn is set to defend his title against Trick Williams later this month at The Show of Shows in Las Vegas.
