NBC News’ Kristen Welker interviewed President-elect Donald Trump on “Meet the Press,” questioning him about his health care plan.
Welker asked Trump if he had a fully-developed plan for health care, to which he responded that they have concepts of a plan that would be better than Obamacare.
Trump mentioned that they are working with major health care companies and doctors to find better solutions because he believes Obamacare is inadequate.
When asked if Americans will see his plan, Trump stated that he is unsure if it will be revealed to the public.
He assured that Americans with pre-existing conditions will still have coverage under his plan and emphasized the need for “better health care for less money.”
Trump also defended his actions regarding Obamacare, claiming that he tried to save the law and improve it.
During the interview, Welker mentioned that some Republicans believe repealing and replacing Obamacare is no longer feasible, to which Trump criticized the late Senator John McCain for his vote against repealing the ACA’s individual mandate.
Despite Welker’s reminders of his attempts to overturn Obamacare, Trump maintained that he did the right thing from a human standpoint.
