A 12-year-old migrant boy who was previously involved in a violent subway mugging has once again found himself in trouble, this time accused of being part of a rowdy mob that attacked two NYPD cops in Times Square over the weekend. The young boy is believed to be the “ringleader” of a migrant robbery crew responsible for a series of muggings in Central Park last summer, where cellphones, wallets, and jewelry were stolen from multiple victims.

Despite his criminal activities, the boy faced no serious consequences due to the state’s lenient juvenile justice system. This has raised concerns among law enforcement officials about the effectiveness of current policies. The boy is allegedly linked to the violent Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua through a youth crew known as Diablos de la 42, or Devils of 42nd Street.

The recent incident in Times Square involved the boy and his accomplices attempting to rob two individuals, which led to a confrontation with the police. Shocking footage shows the outnumbered officers being attacked by the gangsters, who threw objects at them. Four suspects, including the 12-year-old, were arrested but the boy was released with a family court hearing date despite his criminal record.

The attack on the NYPD officers is not an isolated incident, as it is the second migrant beatdown on police in Times Square in less than two years. The incident highlights the dangers faced by law enforcement officers in the line of duty. The NYPD continues to investigate the case and pursue those involved in the attack.

New York City, a sanctuary city, has taken in thousands of migrants, including gang members who have entered the country illegally. The boy and his accomplices are believed to be part of this migrant influx, with some having crossed the border as unaccompanied minors and subsequently engaging in criminal activities.

The boy’s involvement in the Central Park robberies last summer and the recent attack on the NYPD officers underscore the failures of the current legal system in addressing juvenile crime. Despite being arrested previously, the boy was back on the streets and involved in criminal activities once again. Law enforcement officials are calling for stricter measures to address the issue and protect both the public and young offenders.

In light of these incidents, there is a growing concern about the need for comprehensive reform in the juvenile justice system to prevent young individuals from becoming involved in criminal activities. Collaboration between law enforcement agencies and immigration authorities is crucial in addressing the challenges posed by migrant gangs and ensuring public safety.
