Taylor Swift is dispelling rumors that she plans to stop making music after marrying Travis Kelce.
In an interview with the U.K.’s BBC Radio 2 on Monday, October 6, host Scott Mills inquired if fans should be concerned that her marriage would signal the end of her music career.
“This can’t be your last album, right?” Mills asked her.
Swift immediately replied, “What? No.”
Mills continued, “I saw some fans expressing concern that once you marry, you might have children and quit making music.”
The “Fate of Ophelia” singer responded emphatically against that notion.
“That’s an incredibly offensive assumption. People don’t get married to stop working. It’s about loving each other and supporting each other’s passions. I’m with someone who loves what I do, and he knows how much joy I get from creating music and art,” she asserted.

She added, “What’s incredible about Travis is his enthusiasm for his profession matches mine. He wholly supports my music and wouldn’t dream of asking me to give it up. Imagining him saying, ‘I signed up for the music, but thought you’d stop once we were together’ is just unrealistic.”
Swift also shared insights about her relationship with Kelce, 36, with whom she got engaged in August. She highlighted that despite the differences in their careers, there are striking parallels between her life as a pop star and his as a football player.
“What’s amazing is how we motivate one another in our vastly different fields. Yet, we share many attributes in our jobs,” she explained. “We both perform for long hours to captivate our audiences. For him, it’s training; for me, it’s rehearsals. His game is my concert. We just have different terminology for the same commitment. We both rely on our teams—it’s incredibly similar in essence.”
Swift’s interview with BBC Radio 2 was part of the promotional activities for her latest album, The Life of a Showgirl, released on Friday, October 3, which has set new records. As reported by Billboard on Saturday, October 4, Swift’s twelfth studio album achieved an impressive sales figure of approximately 2.7 million copies within just 24 hours post-release in the U.S.
