Teller County authorities have lifted pre-evacuation warnings for a 5-acre brush fire that was burning between Florissant and Divide. The sheriff’s office made the announcement on Friday.
At 5:15 p.m., the pre-evacuation warning for the Highland Lakes subdivision and residents living north of U.S. 24 between Cougar Canyon Point and Lower Twin Rocks Road was lifted.
The fire is currently burning north of U.S. 24, positioned midway between Florissant and Divide, as reported by the sheriff’s office. The cause of the fire has yet to be determined, according to the Bureau of Land Management’s fire dashboard.
