After struggling to sell Cybertrucks, Tesla Inc (NASDAQ: TSLA) is now experiencing a surge in demand for the unique electric pickup truck. The company recently announced a 10-day limited price drop for the all-wheel drive Cybertruck, lowering the starting price to $59,990. CEO Elon Musk stated that this pricing change would only be available until February 28th.

According to Tesla, the price for the Cybertruck will increase after the 10-day period, depending on demand. This move has sparked strong interest among consumers, with Tesla influencer Sawyer Merritt reporting a significant increase in inquiries and purchases since the lower-priced version became available.

Merritt’s data suggests that demand for the Cybertruck has been robust, with many customers expressing interest in the more affordable model. The delivery date for the Cybertruck has also been pushed back to September/October 2026, indicating high demand for the vehicle.

Despite facing a 48% decline in Cybertruck sales in 2025 compared to the previous year, Tesla is now grappling with a different challenge – meeting the unexpectedly high demand for the lower-priced model. With plans to produce 250,000 Cybertruck units annually, the company now needs to reassess its production strategy to align with current market demands.

As Tesla prepares to end production of some electric vehicle models to make way for the Optimus Bot humanoid robot, the company must carefully consider how much focus and resources to allocate to the Cybertruck. International sales of the Cybertruck have commenced in recent months, potentially boosting overall demand for the vehicle.

In conclusion, Tesla’s decision to lower the price of the Cybertruck has generated significant interest among consumers, leading to a surge in demand for the electric pickup truck. The company now faces the challenge of balancing production capabilities with market demand to ensure the successful rollout of the Cybertruck. Stay tuned for updates on Tesla’s pricing strategy and production plans for the Cybertruck.
