Erin Moriarty, best known for her role as Starlight in the hit series “The Boys,” recently revealed on Instagram that she was diagnosed with Graves’ disease in May. In a heartfelt post, Moriarty emphasized the importance of recognizing the symptoms of autoimmune diseases and seeking timely medical attention.

Graves’ disease is a condition that affects the thyroid gland, causing the body to produce an excess of thyroid hormone. Common symptoms include tremors, heat sensitivity, weight loss, skin discoloration, irregular heartbeat, and fatigue. Moriarty shared that if she hadn’t dismissed her symptoms as stress and fatigue, she may have caught the disease sooner.

After starting treatment for Graves’ disease, Moriarty noticed a significant improvement in her health within 24 hours. She expressed gratitude for feeling “the light coming back on” and emphasized the importance of prioritizing one’s well-being. In her Instagram post, she encouraged others to listen to their bodies and seek medical help if they experience any concerning symptoms.

Moriarty also shared text messages with her parents, expressing her struggles and relief after receiving care. In one message, she described feeling nauseated and disconnected from herself, highlighting the impact of the disease on her well-being. In a follow-up message, she expressed gratitude for the positive changes she experienced after starting treatment.

Despite her health challenges, Moriarty has continued to portray the resilient superheroine Starlight on “The Boys.” Her portrayal of Annie January has garnered praise from fans and critics alike, showcasing her talent and dedication to her craft.

Overall, Moriarty’s candid post sheds light on the importance of prioritizing health and seeking medical attention when needed. Her openness about her journey with Graves’ disease serves as a reminder to listen to our bodies and take proactive steps towards wellness. We wish her continued strength and healing on her path to recovery.
