Alex Jeffrey Pretti, a 37-year-old intensive care nurse at a VA hospital in Minneapolis, was tragically killed by a U.S. Border Patrol officer on Saturday. His family described him as a caring individual who was deeply affected by President Donald Trump’s immigration crackdown in the city.

Pretti, an outdoorsman who loved adventures with his Catahoula Leopard dog, worked for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and had participated in protests following the Jan. 7 killing of Renee Good by an Immigration and Customs officer.

According to Michael Pretti, Alex’s father, his son was passionate about standing up against injustice and was particularly upset by the actions of ICE. Despite being a U.S. citizen with no criminal record, Alex was shot by Border Patrol officers in Minneapolis.

His family, located in Colorado, expressed their shock and disbelief at the tragic news. They were unable to get any information from authorities and had to confirm Alex’s death through the Hennepin County Medical Examiner.

Despite false claims made by the Trump administration labeling Alex as a “domestic terrorist,” videos showed that he was not armed when he was shot by federal agents. His family described him as a good man who was simply trying to shield a woman from being pepper-sprayed.

Alex Pretti’s Background and Beliefs

Alex Pretti, originally from Green Bay, Wisconsin, was a dedicated nurse who cared deeply about environmental issues. He was known for his love of the outdoors and his passion for protecting the environment from harm.

Despite his peaceful nature, Alex was not afraid to stand up for his beliefs and participate in protests against unjust policies. His ex-wife, who spoke highly of him, mentioned that he was a Democrat who actively protested against Trump’s immigration crackdown.

Remembering Alex Pretti

Alex Pretti’s family and friends fondly remember him as a loving son, a dedicated nurse, and a passionate advocate for environmental conservation. His tragic death has left a void in their lives, but his memory lives on through the impact he made on those around him.

Despite the circumstances surrounding his death, Alex’s legacy of compassion, activism, and love for the outdoors will continue to inspire those who knew him.
