‘There must be change’ – The White House

Families who have tragically lost loved ones to crimes committed by undocumented immigrants are urging Congress to take decisive action on President Donald J. Trump’s proposed legislation, affectionately dubbed the One, Big, Beautiful Bill, as reported by the New York Post.

These ‘angel families,’ who have endured the heart-wrenching loss of children at the hands of illegal immigrants and gang members, are calling on Republican lawmakers to support President Trump’s initiative aimed at strengthening border security and expediting deportations. The Post has exclusive insights into their poignant plea.

In an open letter addressed to Congress, they emphasize, ‘We are not here as politicians or commentators; we are parents—mothers and fathers who have had to bury our children due to the government’s failure to secure our borders.’ They further assert, ‘While justice for our children may be unattainable, accountability, action, and change are imperative.’

They conclude their heartfelt message by urging every Congressional member to endorse the ‘One Big Beautiful Bill’ to not only fortify the border but also to safeguard communities and prevent another family from experiencing their profound grief.

Over 60 family members have co-signed this letter, including the mother of Jocelyn Nungaray, a 12-year-old victim of alleged murder by two undocumented migrants, and the family of Laken Riley, a nursing student from Georgia, killed by a member of the Tren de Aragua gang from Venezuela. […]

In their correspondence, these ‘angel families’ lament that they have often been ‘ignored, dismissed, or relegated to the status of political props.’

‘Each of us carries an indelible void in our lives because an undocumented immigrant, who had no right to remain in this country, was permitted to take an innocent life,’ they poignantly reflect.

‘These were tragedies that could have been avoided. Yet, year after year, Washington chooses to offer excuses in place of actionable solutions. This cycle must come to an end now.’
