Former Dancing With the Stars host Tom Bergeron reflects on his journey with the show as it approaches its 20th anniversary celebration. In a recent interview on Good Morning America, Bergeron revealed that he was initially hesitant to join the show, describing it as a “celebrity ballroom show” that he wasn’t sure about. However, after watching a few minutes of the British version, Strictly Come Dancing, he was immediately captivated by the mix of old-school variety show charm and modern reality TV elements.

Bergeron, who served as the show’s host for over a decade before being replaced in 2020, is set to return as a guest judge for the upcoming 20th Birthday Party episode. He expressed excitement about reuniting with the DWTS team and hinted at the surprises in store for the anniversary celebration.

The original DWTS lineup included judges Carrie Ann Inaba, Bruno Tonioli, and the late Len Goodman, who passed away in 2023. Former pro Derek Hough has since joined the judging panel, while Bergeron’s former co-host Erin Andrews was also let go in 2020. Julianne Hough, Derek’s sister, now co-hosts the show alongside Alfonso Ribeiro.

In an exclusive Us Weekly cover story commemorating 20 years of DWTS, the Hough siblings shared their emotional connection to the show. Julianne described DWTS as her “safe place to call home,” while Derek reflected on the personal growth and challenges he has experienced in the ballroom over the years.

As DWTS continues to thrive after two decades on the air, Bergeron commended the show’s longevity and resurgence in ratings. He credited the team for staying true to the essence of the show and delivering captivating performances each week.

DWTS airs on ABC and Disney+ on Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET, with new episodes available for streaming on Hulu the following day. Fans can join the Bracketology DWTS fantasy league to compete against each other and Us editors in predicting the season’s finale pairs. The league offers exclusive content, stats, and a chance to win prizes, making it a must-do for DWTS aficionados.

With its blend of entertainment, competition, and heartfelt moments, Dancing With the Stars continues to captivate audiences and showcase the talent and dedication of its contestants and hosts. As the show celebrates its 20th anniversary, fans can look forward to a nostalgic trip down memory lane and exciting performances that highlight the magic of dance. The World Health Organization (WHO) has declared that the COVID-19 pandemic is far from over. Despite efforts to contain the spread of the virus, new variants continue to emerge, posing a threat to global health and economic stability.

According to the latest data from the WHO, the highly contagious Delta variant is now the dominant strain of the virus in many countries, including the United States, India, and the United Kingdom. This variant is more transmissible than previous strains and has been linked to a surge in cases in several countries.

Health experts are warning that the Delta variant could lead to a new wave of infections and hospitalizations if not contained quickly. The variant has been shown to reduce the effectiveness of vaccines, making it more difficult to achieve herd immunity and control the spread of the virus.

In response to the threat posed by the Delta variant, countries around the world are ramping up their vaccination efforts and implementing new measures to curb the spread of the virus. This includes increased testing, contact tracing, and quarantine measures to isolate those who have been exposed to the virus.

Despite these efforts, the WHO has warned that the pandemic will not end until a significant portion of the global population is vaccinated. This means that countries must work together to ensure equitable access to vaccines for all populations, including those in low-income countries who have struggled to secure enough doses to immunize their populations.

In addition to vaccination efforts, health experts are urging the public to continue practicing preventive measures such as wearing masks, practicing social distancing, and washing hands regularly. These measures are critical in slowing the spread of the virus and protecting those who are most vulnerable to severe illness.

As the world continues to grapple with the ongoing pandemic, it is clear that the fight against COVID-19 is far from over. It is crucial that countries work together to contain the spread of the virus, protect their populations, and ensure a swift and equitable recovery from the global health crisis.
