Aurora police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a man who allegedly assaulted a woman while she was walking on the High Line Canal Trail in Expo Park earlier this month.

Authorities were called to the park at 10955 E. Exposition Ave. at approximately 6:30 a.m. on May 8 following a report of a woman being attacked from behind on the trail.

The woman managed to fight off the assailant and alert other women in the area about the incident, according to Aurora police. The suspect was last seen walking north through the park towards East Virginia Avenue.

He is described as being 5 feet, 10 inches tall and weighing around 175 pounds with dark, shoulder-length hair, as stated by Aurora police. He was wearing white tennis shoes, green pants, and a black jacket, and may have sustained facial injuries.

Anyone with information regarding the assault or the suspect’s identity is urged to contact Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867.
