U.S women’s national team head coach Emma Hayes is making strides in developing the USWNT player pool by announcing a 20-player U-23 roster for an upcoming training camp and matches in Germany. The two-game series will take place in two stadiums outside of Stuttgart, Germany, on May 30 and June 2. This marks the first set of matches for Hayes’ revamped U-23 program in 2025.

Hayes expressed her excitement about the opportunity for the U-23 player pool to compete against top-tier opponents in Europe, providing them with valuable experiences necessary for their growth. She emphasized the importance of exposing the players to different challenges and experiences to enhance their development. Hayes also highlighted her intention to rotate players between the U-23 team and the WNT to ensure they face a diverse range of high-level opponents while maintaining consistent coaching methodologies.

The U-23 roster will be under the guidance of a dedicated coaching staff, led by University of New Mexico head coach Heather Dyche. Joining Dyche are Orlando Pride assistant coach Yolanda Thomas, former USWNT player Stephanie Cox, and U.S. Youth National Team coach Louis Hunt.

The roster includes 15 players under the age of 23, with an additional five “over-age” players allowed per U23 standards in Europe. The squad comprises 16 NWSL players and three European club professionals, with University of North Carolina midfielder Evelyn Shores being the sole active college player selected.

Notable players on the roster who have made an impact in the NWSL this season include Jordyn Bugg and Maddie Dahlien (Seattle Reign FC), Lilly Reale and Sarah Schupansky (Gotham FC), Kennedy Wesley (San Diego Wave), Riley Jackson (North Carolina Courage), Caiya Hanks (Portland Thorns FC), Jameese Joseph (Chicago Stars FC), Makenna Morris (Washington Spirit), and Riley Tiernan (Angel City FC).

– Defenders: Jordyn Bugg, Lauren Flynn, Emily Mason, Lilly Reale, Evelyn Shores, Kennedy Wesley
– Midfielders: Korbin Albert, Abi Brighton, Riley Jackson, Samantha Meza, Sarah Schupansky, Jaedyn Shaw
– Forwards: Maddie Dahlien, Mia Fishel, Caiya Hanks, Jameese Joseph, Makenna Morris, Riley Tiernan

The upcoming matches in Germany will provide these young talents with a platform to showcase their skills and gain valuable experience against top European opponents. It is a crucial step in the development of the next generation of USWNT players under the guidance of Emma Hayes and her coaching staff. the following title: “The Benefits of Meditation for Mental Health”

Meditation is a practice that has been around for thousands of years and has recently gained popularity in mainstream culture as a way to improve mental health. Research has shown that meditation can have a variety of benefits for mental well-being, including reducing stress, anxiety, and depression.

One of the key benefits of meditation is its ability to reduce stress. When we are stressed, our bodies release cortisol, a hormone that can have negative effects on our physical and mental health. By practicing meditation, we can activate the body’s relaxation response, which helps to lower cortisol levels and reduce the impact of stress on our bodies. This can lead to a greater sense of calm and peace in our daily lives.

In addition to reducing stress, meditation has also been shown to help alleviate symptoms of anxiety and depression. By focusing on the present moment and quieting the mind, meditation can help to break the cycle of negative thoughts and emotions that can often contribute to anxiety and depression. Studies have shown that regular meditation practice can lead to a decrease in symptoms of both anxiety and depression, as well as an overall improvement in mood and well-being.

Furthermore, meditation can also improve our ability to focus and concentrate. In today’s fast-paced world, we are often bombarded with distractions that can make it difficult to stay focused on the task at hand. By practicing meditation, we can train our minds to stay present and focused, which can improve our productivity and performance in various areas of our lives.

Another benefit of meditation is its ability to cultivate mindfulness, which is the practice of being fully present and aware in the moment. Mindfulness can help us to become more attuned to our thoughts and emotions, allowing us to better understand and manage them. This can lead to greater self-awareness and emotional regulation, which can improve our relationships with ourselves and others.

Overall, the benefits of meditation for mental health are numerous and well-supported by research. By incorporating meditation into our daily routines, we can experience greater calm, clarity, and well-being in our lives. Whether you are new to meditation or have been practicing for years, taking the time to sit quietly and focus on your breath can have a profound impact on your mental health and overall quality of life.
