On Monday, President Trump addressed inquiries regarding the reported physical confrontation between Elon Musk and Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, as well as allegations surrounding Musk’s drug use.

During an Invest in America Roundtable held in the State Dining Room, the President neither confirmed nor denied the swirling rumors.

Musk appeared with a curious black eye at a press conference last month, coinciding with his final day as the head of the Department of Government Efficiency. This sparked rampant speculation that he may have been on the receiving end of an administrative punch for stepping out of line.

According to a recent report by , former Trump strategist and War Room host, Steve Bannon, alleged that Musk and Bessent had a literal throwdown inside the White House over a fiery dispute regarding the IRS’s future leadership.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt confirmed on Saturday that there was indeed a “disagreement,” but she refrained from labeling it a fistfight.

Trump himself acknowledged that “They did have an argument, but I didn’t see it.” He added, “I didn’t witness much physicality there.”

When pressed about a New York Times report suggesting Musk had been “juggling drugs” during the 2024 election cycle and was allegedly using drugs more intensely than previously disclosed, the President expressed skepticism, stating he didn’t believe Musk was using drugs, especially while in the White House.

This exchange unfolds against a backdrop of heightened tension between Trump and Musk, although recent days have seen a thaw in relations, with Musk displaying support for the Trump administration on Sunday evening.

On Friday morning, Trump reportedly remarked that Musk had “lost his mind” after the tech tycoon aggressively criticized him, claiming Trump wouldn’t have won the 2024 election without Musk’s backing, and even called for Trump’s impeachment while linking him to the Epstein scandal.

However, it now appears that hostilities may have ceased, paving the way for reconciliation between the two high-profile figures.

“Look, I wish him well. You understand, we had a good relationship, and I just wish him well, very well, actually,” President Trump stated.

Doocy: Did you ever see Elon Musk get physical with the Treasury Secretary?

Trump: No, I didn’t. They did have an argument, but I didn’t see it. I didn’t see a lot of physicality there.

Doocy: And there was this New York Times report that he did not want to talk about, Elon Musk, that alleged that he, towards the end of his time in the White House, was blurring the lines between recreational use of drugs and medicinal. Do you think he ever had drugs here at the White House?

Trump: I really don’t know. I don’t think so. I hope not. Look, I wish him well. You understand, we had a good relationship, and I just wish him well, very well, actually.
