On Sunday, aboard Air Force One, President Trump addressed a peculiar scene in Israel where citizens booed Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu during a speech by Special Envoy Steve Witkoff, yet erupted in cheers whenever Trump’s name was mentioned.
Trump seemed unfazed by the mixed reception but acknowledged the crowd’s enthusiasm for him, noting that they “really cheer[ed]” for his name. This anecdote sets the stage for his trip to Tel Aviv and the Middle East, where he is set to endorse the first phase of his ambitious 20-point peace plan for Israel and Hamas.
As reported by The Gateway Pundit, during a raucous event in Tel Aviv, when Witkoff mentioned Netanyahu, the audience reacted with audible disapproval. In stark contrast, mentions of Trump brought the audience to a frenzy, with chants of “Thank you, Trump!” echoing in the hall.
During his flight, Fox News correspondent Peter Doocy quizzed Trump about the crowd’s jubilant reaction to him while responding to Netanyahu with disdain.
“I don’t know, but we’re going to make everybody happy,” Trump replied, undeterred by the political theater unfolding.

Doocy: Regarding this historic peace deal we’re on the verge of signing, the atmosphere seems favorable, yet at a recent rally, cheers exploded for you while Netanyahu was met with boos. What’s your take?
Trump: I don’t know, but we aim to ensure everyone is satisfied. The reality is, people are excited—Jews, Muslims, and Arab countries alike. Everyone is celebrating. This unifying moment has never occurred in 3,000 years. Typically, if you favor one side, you disfavor the other. Now, for the first time, there is a collective sense of harmony. After Israel, we’re heading to Egypt to convene with influential leaders from affluent nations, all invested in this unprecedented agreement. This degree of unity has never been witnessed before. It’s complex—but time will tell how it unfolds.
When BBC followed up about the boos directed at Netanyahu, Trump remarked appreciatively on the crowd’s cheers for his name. “It’s an honor,” he said, acknowledging the irony yet again.
Trump acknowledged occasional disagreements with Netanyahu but reinforced his belief in him as “the right guy at the right time.”
Pressed further on whether he fears the peace will falter if Israel fails to uphold a ceasefire, Trump, in typical fashion, dismissed concerns with confidence: “I’m not worried about anything. This deal is exceptional; it promises contentment for all, sparking joy and celebration in the streets. That’s what defines success—a deal where everybody walks away happy. This is a rare and unique moment in history.”
The Gateway Pundit will continue to monitor Trump’s Middle Eastern expedition and the unfolding peace dialogues between Hamas and Israel.
