Those following our recent updates know that Samsung is gearing up for something big. The tech giant is surrounded by rumors and leaks about its next moves, including a new direction for its Z Fold phone series. As always, a Samsung Unpacked event accompanies such generational tech updates.
Samsung typically holds two Unpacked events annually. The first one occurred in February with the launch of the Galaxy S26 series and the Galaxy Buds 4. Now, the summer edition is eagerly anticipated.
Several Samsung devices are due for an update, such as the foldable Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 and the Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra, which has not seen an update since its debut two years ago. Samsung’s first smart glasses might also make an appearance.
For those eager to see what Samsung has in store and catch its next major event, here’s all the information you need.
When is the next Samsung Unpacked launch event?
Samsung has not officially announced the date for its next event, but various rumors, including a hint from Samsung itself, suggest it will occur on 22 July.
Numerous respected sources report that 22 July is the slated date, with a promotional discount from Samsung Malaysia being the most substantial clue. The offer, which applies to future foldable phones, starts on 22 July, nearly confirming the date.
It is expected to take place in London, diverging from previous events held in the USA. Samsung’s teaser for the event hints at the shorter Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide.
How to watch the Samsung Galaxy Unpacked live stream
Samsung has not yet provided a link for the event, but if past events are any guide, the July Samsung Galaxy Unpacked will be streamed on the company’s YouTube channel.
Until the stream is available (we’ll embed it here), you can watch the February Unpacked event below to revisit the Galaxy S26 series announcement.
What will Samsung launch at the next Unpacked?
If the rumors hold true (which they often do), Samsung might unveil a substantial lineup of new products at the upcoming July event.
Galaxy Z Fold 8
The successor to the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 will see a change, adopting a more compact design akin to the Huawei Pura X Max. This model is often referred to as the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide.
It is said that Samsung has chosen this path to compete more directly with Apple’s upcoming square-shaped iPhone Ultra. Leaked images reveal its shorter and wider form.

Android Headlines
This device will feature a 7.6-inch QHD+ interior screen with a 4:3 aspect ratio, and a 5.5-inch outer display with a 16:10 aspect ratio. This size change should enhance the inner screen’s efficiency for widescreen content like streaming and gaming, compared to the Z Fold 7’s taller design.
However, there might be some trade-offs, such as having only two rear cameras: a 50Mp wide and a 50Mp ultrawide.

Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra
The more traditional successor to the Z Fold 7, maintaining the tall aspect ratio, will be the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra.

Samsung might face challenges proving the ‘Ultra’ label, but this model will see some notable enhancements, such as a larger 5000mAh battery and 45W fast charging capability.
The crease will likely be less noticeable, a feature that should help the Fold 8 Ultra compete with devices like the Oppo Find N6, where the crease is barely visible.

Galaxy Z Flip 8
Among the phones expected at the next Samsung Unpacked event, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 8 is anticipated to have the least significant upgrade.
Unfortunately, there’s speculation that the Z Flip 8 could be the last of its series, and there are several needed improvements for it to stay competitive.

Android Headlines
The battery capacity and charging speeds might remain the same, but the Flip 8 is expected to have a smaller frame than its predecessor. Although different rumors are circulating about the extent of this reduction, the consensus is that the phone will be at least 10% smaller.

Galaxy Watch 9 series
Completing the lineup are the Samsung Galaxy Watch 9 and the Samsung Galaxy Watch 9 Classic.
The Classic model’s appearance is noteworthy, as Samsung usually refreshes it biennially but has opted for an annual update this time.

Onleaks x Android Headlines
Like the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 mentioned below, details on these models are scarce, but Samsung is reportedly focusing on enhancing battery life. Considering that a primary critique of the Watch 8 and Watch 8 Classic was their battery life, any improvement would be welcomed.
Galaxy Watch Ultra 2
In tech terms, it’s been quite a while since the Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra debuted about two years ago. In that time, newer models like the Apple Watch Ultra 3 and Garmin’s Venu X1 have emerged, but an upgrade is finally on the horizon.

Evan Blass
Unlike the phones mentioned earlier, not much is known about the Watch Ultra 2, other than plans for a 30% increase in battery capacity, reaching an 800mAh cell, which could add an extra day of usage.
Additionally, a 5G-ready version of the watch is expected, offering faster connection speeds when operating independently of a smartphone.
Samsung Galaxy Glasses
The Galaxy Glasses, following the Galaxy XR, represent a new form factor for Samsung. They are a lighter, more affordable option, functioning as glasses rather than a VR-style headset.
These will be Samsung’s first Android XR glasses and are rumored to run on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon AR1 chipset with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity, competing with Meta’s Ray-Ban glasses. A notable feature is the integration of Google Gemini AI.

Android Headlines
Rumors suggest they weigh 50g, have a 155 mAh battery, a 12Mp camera using the Sony IMX681 sensor, directional speakers, and a touch-sensitive panel on the right arm.
The price is a big question mark, with leaks suggesting a range between $379-$499, but the exact cost will be revealed at Unpacked.
What we don’t expect to see at the next Galaxy Unpacked
While the next Unpacked holds promise for new gadgets, some Samsung devices are likely to be absent.
The Galaxy Ring 2 could have been a highlight for the July Unpacked, marking two years since the smart ring’s introduction (and even longer since its initial tease). Samsung has confirmed development on a new model.
However, rumors indicate that the Galaxy Ring 2 won’t arrive until early 2027, leaving its status uncertain.
Furthermore, no new tablets are anticipated, as the Galaxy Tab S12 series is expected in September, following Samsung’s typical release schedule. The same applies to the Galaxy S26 FE, which is slated for a September release, succeeding the Galaxy S25 FE.
