Tragedy Strikes at Universal Orlando Theme Park

Last year, a 70-year-old woman tragically passed away after riding the Revenge of the Mummy roller coaster at Universal Orlando in Florida. The incident occurred on November 25, 2025, as per newly released state records by the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services.

The unidentified woman became unresponsive after experiencing the high-speed indoor attraction, which can reach speeds of up to 45 mph. She was rushed to the hospital but unfortunately did not survive.

The cause of her death was not disclosed in the report, which also highlighted eight other cases of guests suffering injuries or medical episodes at Universal between October and December. Additionally, six health-related incidents were reported at Walt Disney World during the same period, while no incidents were recorded at other popular Florida parks like SeaWorld, Busch Gardens, or Legoland.

Since its opening in 2024, there have been 21 incidents reported on the Revenge of the Mummy ride, including complaints of nausea, dizziness, seizures, and even a fractured vertebra.

The indoor coaster, inspired by “The Mummy” films, takes riders through tomb-themed scenery, fire effects, and haunting projections in about three minutes. Universal Orlando Resort declined to comment on pending claims related to the incident.

Tragically, this incident followed another death at Universal’s Epic Universe when Kevin Rodriguez Zavala, 32, became unresponsive while riding the Stardust Racers roller coaster and passed away on September 17, 2025. His death was ruled as an accident due to blunt impact injuries.

Our thoughts go out to the families of the victims during this difficult time.
