There have been recent changes in the structure of WWE’s creative team as they gear up for Royal Rumble 2026 in Saudi Arabia on January 31. According to a report from PWInsider, Ryan Ward is now overseeing the creative agenda for both RAW and SmackDown, marking a recent adjustment in the promotion.
On SmackDown, WWE legend Road Dogg and John Switaka are leading the creative process, while Jonathan Baeckstrom and Alexandra Williams are heading the creative team for RAW.
Tonight’s episode of WWE RAW is highly anticipated as it marks the first anniversary of RAW on Netflix. A collaboration with “Stranger Things” is set to take place to promote the final season on the streaming platform. The show will feature CM Punk defending the World Heavyweight Championship against Bron Breakker, Becky Lynch challenging Maxxine Dupri for the Women’s Intercontinental Championship, and The Kabuki Warriors defending the Women’s Tag Team Championships against Rhea Ripley and IYO SKY.
Former WWE writer Vince Russo recently criticized the creative team for their handling of Jey Uso. Despite winning the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 41, Jey Uso has since fallen out of the main event scene as a singles competitor and reunited with his brother, Jimmy Uso, to win the World Tag Team Championships on RAW.
Russo expressed disappointment in the team’s inability to sustain Jey Uso’s success as a singles star, calling it a failure on their part. It remains to be seen if Triple H and the creative team have any surprises in store for tonight’s special edition of RAW.
