Last week at the United Nations General Assembly, a Secret Service Agent apparently decided to embrace the Sandman instead of staying vigilant on duty. This anonymous agent not only succumbed to sleep on the job but also left his fully automatic rifle unattended during a bathroom break—talk about multitasking gone wrong.

In light of these incidents, the agent was promptly relieved of his responsibilities.

Correction: The rifle he allegedly left lying in a folding chair is fully automatic, elevating the danger level exponentially.

According to RealClearPolitics reporter Susan Crabtree:

A Secret Service Uniformed Division officer reportedly fell asleep in plain sight while carrying out security duties at the United Nations General Assembly last Thursday, as disclosed by multiple law enforcement sources.

This officer, described as an overweight African American male, is under scrutiny for allegedly abandoning his semi-automatic rifle (presumably an SR16) while he stepped away for a bathroom break. Observers from the New York Police Department documented the incident, deeming it unprofessional behavior that warranted reporting to their higher-ups at the multi-agency command center, which included members from the Secret Service and NYPD.

Upon being informed of this unsettling conduct, a Secret Service spokesperson confirmed the officer was immediately relieved of his duties, returned to Washington D.C., and awaits further administrative review of his actions.

The Secret Service issued a formal statement to RealClearPolitics:

“The U.S. Secret Service acknowledges an incident on September 25 involving a Uniformed Division officer engaged in unprofessional behavior, including the momentary abandonment of a firearm in a secure area. Once leadership was informed, the officer was swiftly removed from operational tasks, returned to Washington, D.C., and subsequently placed on administrative leave pending disciplinary action. Our agency enforces stringent professional standards, and any breaches are addressed with appropriate consequences.”

This incident is merely a snapshot of the broader security challenges that plagued the United Nations General Assembly that week.

In a related but far more alarming episode, a Trump Administration official from the Health and Human Services Department endured harassment, recording, and even physical assault while at the UN last Thursday. Reports indicate that this official was stalked into a restroom and verbally abused by a self-identified “deranged leftist.” The assailant, deemed a “lunatic,” was apprehended, although questions linger about how such individuals could bypass multiple layers of security.

Meanwhile, President Trump made waves with a significant address at the United Nations General Assembly last Tuesday. His entrance was met with drama: as he and First Lady Melania Trump stepped onto an escalator, the mechanism suddenly halted, leaving them to ascend the stairs on foot—which seemed only slightly less awkward than many of his interactions on stage.

While the First Lady swiftly adjusted, gracefully climbing the stairs, Trump was less fortunate, with the escalator halting under his weight—subsequently leading to social media frenzy over what some suggested might be a plot against him.

This is bizarre…

The White House reacted swiftly last Tuesday afternoon, issuing a call for an investigation into what might be perceived as intentional interference during President Trump and the First Lady’s ascent to the UN stage.

“If someone at the UN deliberately halted the escalator as the President and First Lady were boarding, they should face immediate termination and investigation,” White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt asserted, linking the situation to a pattern of perceived sabotage against Trump.

If the escalator stoppage was intentional, those responsible should be fired and investigated immediately.

In a dramatic response to recent events, President Trump called for the arrest of any UN staffers implicated in intentionally stopping the escalators, as well as an investigation into three “very sinister” occurrences alleged to have taken place during the assembly.
