The Daily Caller provides insights:

Victor Davis Hanson, a Senior Fellow at the Hoover Institution, expressed his concerns on Fox News’ “Hannity” regarding Zohran Mamdani, the socialist Democratic nominee for mayor of New York City. Hanson noted that Mamdani’s ambition to “test the limits” of his power as mayor is troubling, especially in light of his past remarks from 2021.

Mamdani has come under fire from both Republicans and some Democrats for his previous anti-police comments and his reluctance to reject the phrase “globalize the intifada.” When Sean Hannity pressed Hanson on the possibility of reconciliation between the polarized political factions, he provided a stark response.

“The ideologies in question are fundamentally at odds with American history spanning 249 years. It’s essential to counter them at the ballot box. Everyone needs to mobilize in November for a significant Republican victory, echoing past rejections of extreme ideologies such as those seen during the McGovern and Carter administrations,” Hanson stated. “However, this current situation is far more radical.”

Mamdani’s recent contention over his advocacy for “seizing the means of production” echoes classic socialist rhetoric. As Friedrich Engels observed in “Socialism: Utopian and Scientific,” this concept implies a radical shift wherein the production of goods transforms fundamentally, suppressing the power that the product exerts over the producer.

It’s crucial to view the entire video for Hanson’s complete thoughts on this topic—definitely a worthy investment of your time:

Mamdani insists he does not identify as a communist, a claim reminiscent of Fidel Castro’s assertions after seizing power. While Mamdani may not lead a banana republic, one must wonder if their end goals align. Join Sean, Victor Davis Hanson, and me as we delve into this topic. pic.twitter.com/qBRhY2uTNg

A possible victory for Mamdani could spell disaster for New York City, and the prospect is alarmingly plausible.
