Partial transcript via Redwave Press on Twitter/X:

Abby Phillip: “Should President Trump succeed in brokering peace between Israel and Hamas, it would undeniably stand as a significant achievement in his career.”

Alencia Johnson: “Admittedly, it’s quite a challenge to accept the prospect of Trump being a key figure in facilitating a ceasefire.”

“Numerous individuals are weary of the ongoing suffering faced by the Palestinian people; thus, how do we navigate toward a solution?”

Presently, the winds seem to be shifting favorably.

Even the ostensibly liberal NBC News has a positive outlook:

Hamas consents to release all Israeli hostages, subject to conditions

Hamas announced its agreement to release all Israeli hostages, whether alive or deceased, contingent upon meeting “field conditions for the exchange,” and has expressed its willingness to negotiate through intermediaries concerning President Trump’s proposed peace plan for the Middle East.

In their Friday statement, Hamas confirmed its readiness to promptly engage in negotiations through mediators to discuss the specifics of this agreement.

The group reiterated its intention to transfer control of the Gaza Strip to a Palestinian body composed of independents (technocrats), rooted in national consensus and supported by Arab and Islamic allies.

This response follows Trump’s 20-point peace proposal previously outlined at the White House alongside Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

If Trump actualizes this endeavor—an outcome that appears increasingly plausible—he might genuinely warrant consideration for a Nobel Peace Prize.
