Actor, comedian, and U.S. Marine Corps veteran Rob Riggle is set to host the annual Veterans Day special “American Valor: A Salute to Our Heroes” for the sixth time. The event will be syndicated to TV stations nationwide over the weekend of Saturday, Nov. 15, featuring narration from a star-studded lineup including Kristen Bell, Joe Buck, Candace Cameron Bure, Chris Evans, Michael Keaton, Chris Pine, and Chris Pratt. Special presentations will also be made by Shawn Johnson East, Sawyer Spielberg, as well as stars from “Band of Brothers” Wilmer Valderrama, Charlie Weber, and James Madio.
Riggle will guide viewers through a series of true stories honoring the courage, sacrifice, and legacy of America’s service members. The special will showcase veterans from World War II, Korea, Vietnam, and modern wars, spanning eight decades of service.
“As a Marine, it’s the greatest honor to stand alongside those who’ve served and to help tell the stories of the true heroes who’ve shaped our country,” Riggle expressed in a statement. “Their courage, sacrifice, and legacy deserve to be celebrated and remembered, not just on Veterans Day, but every day.”
The American Veterans Center is behind “American Valor,” with musical performances by the United States Naval Academy Glee Club and the United States Air Force Band’s “Airmen of Note” included in this year’s program. The special will be syndicated to major network affiliates as well as seen by active duty military members and their families on the American Forces Network worldwide.
Tim Holbert, president of the American Veterans Center and executive producer of the special, emphasized that “American Valor” is about remembering the nation’s identity and who they owe. This year’s program aims to honor the legacy of heroes and ensure their stories are never forgotten.
Segments for this year’s event include “The Heroes of World War II,” “The Rosie the Riveters,” “The Miracle of Christmas,” “Captain Melvin Pender, Jr.,” “The Last Flight Out,” “The Horse Soldiers,” and “A Final Closing Toast.” Each segment highlights different acts of heroism and sacrifice by veterans across various wars and generations.
The event culminates with “A Final Closing Toast,” narrated by Chris Evans, celebrating the World War II generation while passing the baton to a new generation of service members. It is a moment of remembrance, gratitude, and continuity, offering a toast to heroes past and future.
