Central to the ongoing saga of Donald Trump and the Epstein scandal is a recurring and rather intriguing question: Why is he so intent on keeping the Epstein files from public view?
The mystery deepens: Why won’t Trump disclose these documents? Why has he labeled their pursuit as a mere Democratic ploy, especially when it’s been his own party members clamoring for their release?

The crux of the matter remains: why?
Initially, one might conclude that Trump’s reluctance stems from a desire to avoid personal embarrassment or the exposure of his affluent circle. Yet, one could argue that if he truly wished to keep these files under wraps, he should never have boisterously pledged during the 2024 election campaign to make them public.
Trump has seemingly entangled himself in a web of his own making, offering assurances to his followers that he clearly had no intention of fulfilling.
Historically, Trump has sidestepped numerous promises, from the infamous “lock her up” chant regarding Hillary Clinton to the much-discussed border wall that never materialized. It’s understandable why he might presume this latest promise would fade into the collective memory of his supporters.
However, his base hasn’t forgotten. They have kept the narrative alive, anticipating that the files would implicate Democrats, only to discover that they also contain details implicating Trump himself.
Following his unsuccessful bid to halt the bipartisan discharge petition in the House, Trump has begun to sound increasingly frantic as the vote approaches early next week.
Stay tuned for further developments.
