President Donald J. Trump has asserted that Minnesota has transformed into “a hub of fraudulent money laundering activity,” claiming that “refugees from Somalia are completely taking over the once great State.”
This assertion is underscored by a startling fraud scandal that unfolded amid the ineptitude of Democrat Governor Tim Walz, wherein 78 out of 86 charged individuals are connected to the Somali community.
- The Democrats permitted a staggering $1 billion heist to transpire. A group, predominantly of East African descent, allegedly exploited taxpayer funds meant for child food assistance, resulting in what has been labeled the nation’s largest pandemic relief fraud scheme.
- This fraud involved an extensive, intricate network of nonprofits and affiliates, primarily operated within the Somali community. These organizations falsely reported having fed tens of thousands of non-existent hungry children and claimed to provide services to fictitious homeless individuals. Furthermore, they allegedly falsified certifications for therapy services aimed at autistic Somali children, resulting in kickbacks being paid to parents for their complicity in the scheme. Lavish lifestyles were funded, and funds were purportedly funneled overseas, with some allegations suggesting links to a terrorist organization.
- The scandal erupted on Walz’s watch, and he seemingly turned a blind eye. All enforcement actions have been initiated at the federal level, while state officials exhibited a “reluctance” to intervene. They were accused of “tolerating, if not tacitly allowing, the fraud” and dismissing whistleblower reports to avoid backlash from the Somali community and potential accusations of racism.
- In response, President Trump is taking decisive action. The Trump Administration plans to terminate Temporary Protected Status for Somalis, suspend migration from nations deemed problematic, and reassess green card applications from individuals originating from countries of concern, all aimed at ensuring that migrants contribute positively to society.
