Early Tuesday morning, a homeowner in Los Angeles took matters into their own hands when two burglars attempted to break into their luxury residence on Laurelcrest Drive in Studio City. The homeowner, armed and ready, opened fire on the suspects, forcing them to flee.
Authorities were alerted to the incident and responded to the scene around 4 a.m. after receiving reports of a shooting. According to NBC 4, the suspects managed to force their way into the $2.4 million home but were met with resistance from the vigilant homeowner.
Following the confrontation, the suspects fled the scene in a black Chevy Traverse. However, one of the suspects was reportedly shot during the incident. Later, a 16-year-old with gunshot wounds matching the suspects’ description was dropped off at a local hospital.
Thankfully, no injuries were reported among the occupants of the home. The quick actions of the homeowner likely prevented a more serious outcome during the burglary attempt.
