A shocking incident in Tennessee has led to the arrest of a woman after she allegedly shot a man multiple times upon discovering he had been accused of sexually assaulting a child in her family. The victim, identified as Noe Santillan Rincon, was found dead with 14 gunshot wounds, including one to the head, by a Memphis police officer on patrol in the early hours of February 26.
Rincon, 58, had been staying with the mother of the accused woman, Alishon Torres, before leaving to go to the store around 1 a.m. The mother received calls from Rincon’s phone later on, which raised suspicions. It was revealed that Torres, 18, had made those calls from Rincon’s phone, although the content of the conversations remains undisclosed.
Torres was apprehended on March 5 and charged with first-degree murder. During police questioning, she confessed to the crime, claiming that a 5-year-old girl in her family had accused Rincon of inappropriate touching weeks prior to the incident. Torres encountered Rincon on his way to the store and confronted him about the allegation, leading to a heated exchange that culminated in her opening fire on him inside his van.
After the shooting, Torres allegedly took a picture of the crime scene, dragged Rincon’s body onto the street, and drove the van to an abandoned house to repaint it. She then left the vehicle at an apartment complex with her boyfriend, who she maintains was unaware of the killing. The victim’s relatives later identified his body at the scene.
A gun found in Torres’ possession was confirmed to be one of the weapons used in the shooting, with Torres admitting to discarding the other firearm. She faces additional charges of using a firearm in the commission of a felony and tampering with evidence. As the investigation continues, authorities have urged anyone with relevant information to come forward to assist in the prosecution process.
Torres, originally from Honduras, is currently in custody, with U.S. Immigrations and Customs Enforcement requesting Tennessee officials to detain her until they can take custody for further proceedings. In light of this disturbing incident, it is crucial to report any instances of sexual assault or exploitation to the appropriate authorities, such as the National Sexual Assault Hotline or the FBI, to ensure justice for the victims and prevent further harm.
