A Brazilian mother of three is in intensive care after allegedly being struck by her estranged husband following a confrontation at her birthday celebration.
Leidiane, a 39-year-old content creator, was marking her birthday with friends at her home in Curitiba on Sunday when a dispute arose with her former partner, Clair. The pair had recently ended their five-year relationship, according to the Brazilian outlet Record.
The couple reportedly had a background of alleged domestic violence, as noted by the outlet, and the argument escalated when Clair accused Leidiane of taking his cellphone.
The altercation moved to the street where Clair allegedly got into his car and drove directly at Leidiane. She was reportedly thrown into the air and subsequently taken to intensive care with a broken femur, as stated by her aunt, Elisangela Markuetti.
“She’ll have to have a pin inserted, she’s very distressed,” Markuetti said.
An investigation into the incident is being conducted as an attempted femicide, and the family is seeking justice.
