Teen Mom alum Jenelle Evans is making efforts to move past previous issues with her son Jace.
On Instagram this Friday, May 1, Evans, 34, posted a series of photos and videos featuring her and Jace, 16, enjoying quality time during a “parents weekend.”
Evans included a selfie of the two of them and clips from a kayaking trip they took together.
“Therapy and kayaking with my best friend. Both working on ourselves at the same time 💓🥹 #ParentsWeekend #MentalHealthAwareness,” she captioned the post.
Evans, who shares Jace with Andrew Lewis, Kaiser, 11, with Nathan Griffith, and Ensley, 9, with David Eason, also posted drawings from the weekend that seemed to be part of parenting exercises.
One document titled “emotional hijack” listed actionable steps such as “Do things they enjoy. Respect their feelings” and “Build the relationship.” Evans labeled the post, “#Parenting101.”
Supportive comments poured in from Evans’ followers regarding the family update.
“Precious, but make sure Jake is on board with you postings😉🤔 Hope All is well with you both🫶🫶,” one user commented, while another said, “Good job momma. ❤️”
Another follower noted, “He looks good. Am glad he is doing well. So proud of him.”

In March, it was reported that Jenelle’s mother, Barbara Evans, sought emergency custody of Jace after he allegedly threatened relatives with a gun in February. Jace was living with Barbara in North Carolina, while Jenelle resides in Las Vegas with her younger two children.
Barbara’s request was denied, but Lewis initiated a GoFundMe campaign to collect funds for his son’s “medical and legal” costs, which Evans criticized as a “scam.”
Evans previously updated listeners about Jace on the April 13 episode of the “La Femme Talk” podcast.
“I’ll let you know something that I haven’t told anyone,” she said. “You know I’ve been very quiet online, and behind the scenes, I’ve been actually getting help for my son as needed, and he’s in a safe place [in a] holistic approach.”
She added, “I think that’s the most important thing. A lot of people, they think since I’m being so quiet that I might not be doing anything and not taking action. But just know that if I’m quiet, I’m up to something.”
