A teenager in a clown costume allegedly attacked and fatally stabbed an elderly man, leaving his body on the street. The incident followed footage of the teen approaching a neighbor’s house, staring into the security camera, and whispering, “I’ve been looking for you.”
The 15-year-old, whose identity remains undisclosed, was captured on video approaching a home in East St. Louis, Illinois, wearing a sinister black-and-red clown outfit. The footage, shared widely on social media, shows the teen looking directly into the camera with wide eyes before calmly walking away from the porch and heading to the back of the house.
The video shows the incident occurred at 9:11 p.m. on Monday, less than an hour before police were alerted to a body found nearby, according to KMOV. The victim, John Wesley Allen Sr., was discovered just after 10 p.m. with multiple stab wounds, as reported by the police and the St. Clair County Coroner’s Office.
The young suspect was quickly located and apprehended at a residence, according to a statement by the Illinois State Police on Tuesday.
“Video footage of the suspect dressed in a clown costume has been circulating, and ISP is currently working to collect all relevant video,” the police stated. No further details about the killing have been released, and the motive or connection between the victim and suspect remains unclear.
Lee Palmer shared with KMOV that his mother was alone at home when the disturbing clown appeared on their porch.

He reportedly lingered around the property for several minutes before heading behind the house.
“I couldn’t believe it. He was dressed in the clown outfit,” Palmer remarked. “That was kind of spooky for her.”
Palmer expressed immediate fear that the clown might harm everyone in the house.
“Why out of all the houses, why come to this house?” he questioned.
