In a recent FOX News segment, Barker discussed how the Democratic Party has shifted towards the radical left.
Barker explained that by repeatedly preventing Bernie Sanders from securing the party’s nomination, the Democrats inadvertently fueled the activist base to establish their own networks and funding sources. Essentially, the party’s actions led to its current situation.

A former Bernie Sanders campaign member is raising concerns about the current state of the Democratic Party, claiming that the far left has taken control from within.
“The takeover is partly due to the establishment’s strong efforts in 2020 to block us, and in 2019, after AOC’s win, they imposed a blacklist. This move backfired, strengthening the far left,” Barker shared on “Jesse Watters Primetime.”
Barker, who previously fundraised for Democratic candidates before opting to vote for Trump in 2024, noted that the establishment’s attempts to contain its insurgent elements failed, leading activists to create their own political infrastructure, including training and donor recruitment, even attracting billionaires.
According to Barker, the party is now significantly influenced internally by its activist base, donors, and staff members, many of whom have more progressive views than the politicians they support.
“The party seems to be surrounded on all sides, with left-leaning donors, radicalized staff, and an activist base,” she remarked.
Barker observed this shift even within the movement she once supported, citing Sanders’ evolving positions on topics like guns and immigration.
“I’ve witnessed him move further left influenced by his supporters, such as AOC, Ilhan Omar, and Abdul El-Sayed,” she concluded.
