In a recent episode of the “Joe Rogan Experience,” popular podcaster Joe Rogan discussed the lack of sympathy over the assassination of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson. Rogan, along with filmmaker Quentin Tarantino and producer Roger Avary, pointed out that the public may not be mourning Thompson’s death because of the questionable practices of the healthcare insurance industry.

Rogan expressed his belief that the alleged assassin, Luigi Mangione, was not a professional hitman but rather someone who may have been wronged by the system. The trio highlighted the high denial rate for health insurance claims that UnitedHealthcare has been accused of, shedding light on the darker side of the insurance business.

Avary commented that few people would feel sorry for Thompson, except perhaps his family, given the nature of the healthcare insurance industry. Rogan agreed, calling the business of insurance “gross” and specifically criticizing healthcare insurance practices.

Mangione is accused of fatally shooting Thompson as he walked to a Manhattan hotel where UnitedHealthcare’s parent company was hosting an event. The 26-year-old suspect was found with a ghost gun, masks, and rambling writings linking him to the crime scene.

Thompson, a well-respected CEO in the insurance industry, had reportedly been receiving threats before his death. The motive behind the shooting is still under investigation, with authorities looking into Mangione’s alleged manifesto that criticizes the healthcare system and corporate greed.

As Mangione awaits extradition to New York, details continue to emerge about his possible vendetta against the medical industry. The tragic incident has sparked conversations about the complexities of the healthcare insurance business and the impact it has on individuals and society as a whole.

The case remains ongoing, with law enforcement working to uncover the full story behind Thompson’s assassination and Mangione’s motivations. The public’s reaction to the event reflects a growing awareness of the challenges and controversies within the healthcare insurance industry.
