Brooks Koepka, a five-time major champion, has had a rough start to the major tournaments this year. After missing the cut at both the Masters Tournament and the PGA Championship, the LIV Golf star opened up about the mental toll it took on him. Koepka, known for his nine PGA Tour wins and seven European Tour victories, expressed his frustration at his poor performance at Augusta National, stating that it had been a challenging time for him mentally.

At the 2025 Masters Tournament, Koepka struggled from the beginning, carding a 74 on the first day with six bogeys and four birdies. Despite showing some improvement on the second day with an eagle and a couple of birdies, a quadruple bogey on the last hole sealed his fate, missing the cut with a 5-over 149 score. The disappointment continued at the PGA Championship, where he also missed the cut after shooting 9-over 151.

However, Koepka seems to be on the path to redemption at the 2025 US Open. In his first round at Oakmont, he played solid golf, making par on most holes and even carding an eagle on the fourth hole. Despite a couple of bogeys on the back nine, he finished strong with two birdies, posting a 2-under 68 score and sitting in third place on the provisional leaderboard.

Currently tied for third with Si Woo Kim and Sungjae Im, Koepka is looking to make a comeback in the third major of the year. With J.J. Spaun and Thriston Lawrence leading the pack, Koepka is set to tee off for his second round alongside Min Woo Lee and Justin Thomas. The trio will start their round from the 10th hole at 12:18 p.m. local time.
