A violent incident unfolded at the Hawthorne Living Apartment Complex in Central Islip, Long Island, leaving a 16-year-old boy and a 25-year-old woman seriously injured. The altercation occurred in the pool area of the luxury complex, with two groups involved in a heated dispute that escalated into gunfire.
Both victims were rushed to nearby hospitals, with the teen taken to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center and the woman to South Shore University Hospital. Despite receiving immediate medical attention, they were both listed in serious condition as a result of the shooting.
The violence also caused damage to parked cars and an apartment door in the vicinity of the pool area. Law enforcement officials reported that the groups involved had dispersed by the time police arrived at the scene, and no arrests have been made in connection with the incident.
