The NBC series “Grosse Pointe Garden Society” has been canceled after just one season, according to a report by Variety. The show, created by Jenna Bans and Bill Krebs, followed the lives of four members of a suburban garden club whose lives become intertwined by scandal, mischief, and a shared secret – a murder that no one wants to talk about. As dark truths begin to unravel their seemingly perfect lives, they struggle to maintain their facade as flawless as the flowers blooming in their garden.

The cast of the show included Melissa Fumero, Aja Naomi King, Ben Rappaport, AnnaSophia Robb, Matthew Davis, Alexander Hodge, Nancy Travis, and Felix Wolfe. Despite the star-studded ensemble, the show failed to make a significant impact with viewers and received low ratings since its premiere in February. Originally airing on Sundays alongside another canceled show, “Suits LA,” NBC later moved the series to Friday nights in an attempt to boost viewership.

The cancellation of “Grosse Pointe Garden Society” adds to the list of six shows that NBC has axed from the 2024-2025 season. Along with the aforementioned series, dramas “The Irrational” and “Found” as well as comedies “Lopez vs. Lopez” and “Night Court” have also been canceled. However, NBC is not slowing down on new content and currently has two comedy pilots in contention for the next season – “Stumble,” a cheerleading comedy, and an untitled comedy set at a Native American community center in Oakland.

It seems that “Grosse Pointe Garden Society” was unable to resonate with audiences despite its promising premise and talented cast. As the show bids farewell after just one season, fans of the actors and creators will have to look forward to their next projects on the small screen.
