Brigitte Macron is intensifying her battle against defamation.

A saga that refuses to die.

The persistent rumors surrounding Brigitte Macron, France’s First Lady, claiming she was born a man, have been circulating for years, capturing attention both domestically and internationally. This sensational narrative shows little sign of fading from public discourse anytime soon.

Brigitte initially took legal action against two women for these outrageous allegations, winning a defamation case that was later overturned on appeal, clearing the defendants. However, she is now re-engaging in her fight against them.

According to the Daily Mail:

“The First Lady of France has escalated her legal battle against two women who claimed she was once a man, taking her case to the highest court after an appeals court exonerated them, her lawyer announced today.”

“On Thursday, the Paris appeals court overturned previous convictions against the two women for disseminating false claims—rumors that had gone viral online—asserting that 72-year-old Brigitte Macron was once a man.”

“Brigitte Macron lodged a libel complaint against the two women following their December 2021 YouTube video, which claimed she had previously been a man named Jean-Michel Trogneux—who, incidentally, is Brigitte Macron’s brother.”

This claim rapidly gained traction worldwide.

Initially, the two women were convicted and ordered to pay €9,400 in damages to Brigitte, along with an additional €5,800 to her brother. However, the recent appeal ruling has sent shockwaves throughout France by reinstating their freedom to speak.

“Judges at the Paris Appeal Court determined that Amandine Roy, 53, a clairvoyant, and Natacha Rey, 49, a blogger, had the legal right to make these provocative allegations.”
