Texas Republicans are poised to unveil their newly revised gerrymandered map as early as today. House Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries is set to engage with the stateās Democratic representatives in the Lone Star State.
The latest iteration of the Texas gerrymander is yet another brainchild of the Trump administration, but even Republican insiders are starting to voice concerns.

However, astute Republicans privately acknowledge that relying solely on redistricting to secure victories in the midterms is not a viable strategy.
āIf weāre depending on gerrymandering to maintain our majorities, we may have deeper issues,ā remarked a Republican operative closely aligned with the White House and involved in Senate and House campaigns. Nonetheless, this operative defended the practice: āHonestly, [Democrats] engage in it too, so weāre just giving them a taste of their own medicine.ā
Historically speaking, it was not the Democrats who ignited the contemporary wave of gerrymandering.
