Netflix has announced that the live-action adaptation of the popular manga and anime series “One Piece” has been renewed for an early Season 3. The news was revealed during the annual One Piece Day celebration in Tokyo, where it was also announced that Ian Stokes would be joining Joe Tracz as co-showrunner for Season 3. Stokes, who previously served as a co-executive producer on Season 1, will help lead production on the upcoming season, which is set to begin filming later this year in Cape Town, South Africa.

Season 2 of “One Piece” does not have a premiere date yet, but it is expected to return to Netflix in 2026. The streaming service has released several first look images from the upcoming season, giving fans a glimpse of what’s to come.

Titled “One Piece: Into the Grand Line,” Season 2 will see Luffy and the Straw Hats facing fiercer adversaries and embarking on perilous quests as they journey through the legendary Grand Line in search of the world’s greatest treasure. The new season promises to bring bizarre islands and formidable enemies for the crew to encounter along the way.

The cast of “One Piece” includes Iñaki Godoy as Luffy, Mackenyu as Roronoa Zoro, Emily Rudd as Nami, Jacob Romero as Usopp, and Taz Skylar as Sanji. Several new cast members will be introduced in Season 2, including David Dastmalchian as Mr. 3, Katey Sagal as Dr. Kureha, Sendhil Ramamurthy as Nefertari Cobra, and Joe Manganiello as Mr. 0.

The show has undergone several showrunner changes over the course of three seasons, with Matt Owens and Steven Maeda originally developing the series. Tracz took over as co-showrunner for Season 2 after Maeda’s departure, and now Stokes will join him for Season 3.

Produced in partnership with Shueisha, “One Piece” is created by Tomorrow Studios and Netflix. Eiichiro Oda, the creator of the original manga, serves as an executive producer on the series alongside Marty Adelstein, Becky Clements, Tetsu Fujimura, Chris Symes, Christoph Schrewe, and Maeda.

With the renewal of Season 3 and the upcoming premiere of Season 2, fans of “One Piece” have much to look forward to as the epic high-seas pirate adventure continues to unfold on Netflix.
