Katy Perry is celebrating the first anniversary of her album 143.
On Monday, September 22, the 40-year-old artist took to Instagram to share an array of behind-the-scenes images and videos, alongside a touching message for her fans.
“A year ago, 143 was released, and I’ve spent the weekend reflecting,” Perry penned in a heartfelt caption. “ Albums serve as snapshots of an artist’s journey—moments of vulnerability where we hope our truths resonate with others. For me, 143 was an open declaration of love to my fans. Looking back, I see it’s been about rekindling connections through these songs and this incredible tour that has reunited me with so many of you, some for the first time.”
Continuing, Perry embraced the importance of community: “I am immensely proud of the bond we share and the community we are evolving into. History offers us lessons; it reminds us of our achievements while letting us learn from our missteps. Every experience carries value, whether it’s a win or a loss. Let’s aspire to grow together over the years, and ultimately find pride and peace in how we navigated this imperfect world.”
Perry expressed pride in her resilience: “I keep on swinging,” she stated, reflecting on the tumultuous path of her pop music career.
“In my years under the limelight, I’ve felt adoration, faced trials, and endured tests,” she declared. “I understand there’s always two sides to every situation, and even when I find myself on the less favorable side, I still hold on to my wishes and dreams.”

Katy then shared a unique gift from her best friend: a framed 19th-century book titled *What Katy Did Next*. “I’ve never cracked its spine, but the title resonates with me,” she confessed. “It symbolizes the journey ahead, the need to progress and dream.”
Wrapping up her message, Perry stated, “Whatever lies ahead, I’m allowing it to unfold organically—no pressure, no manipulation—just faith in the universe, my fans, and the music guiding me to where I’m destined to go. Remember: my love for you remains unyielding, and I wouldn’t be on this path without you.”
Recently, Perry has navigated a personal transition, having ended her long-term relationship with actor Orlando Bloom and is reportedly quietly seeing former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. As she gears up to take her Lifetimes Tour across Europe next month, her focus seems undeterred.
