An American Idol executive and her husband were tragically murdered in their upscale Los Angeles home, shedding light on the harrowing events leading up to the double homicide. The victims, Robin Kaye and Thomas Deluca, both 70, had recently moved to the Encino neighborhood in an effort to feel safer. However, their sense of security was shattered when their home was broken into just weeks before their untimely deaths.

Following the initial break-in, the couple took immediate measures to enhance their security, including installing spikes on their fence and upgrading their video surveillance system. Despite these precautions, their worst fears were realized when the intruder returned, prompting a fatal confrontation. The close friend of the couple revealed that the perpetrators had broken a glass and entered the home while Kaye and Deluca were asleep, only fleeing when their dog alerted them to the danger.

In the wake of the first break-in, Kaye had reportedly reached out to a private security firm out of concern for her safety. However, the couple ultimately decided against hiring additional protection. The tragic events unfolded when the couple was found dead inside their residence after a welfare check was conducted by law enforcement. The suspect, 22-year-old Raymond Boodarian, was apprehended the following day and is believed to have been burglarizing the property at the time of the fatal encounter.

The motive behind the brutal killings remains unclear, as detectives do not believe Boodarian had any prior connection to the victims. The couple, described as “two of the nicest people you’ll ever meet,” met a tragic end in separate rooms of their luxurious home, with gunshot wounds to the head. The shocking nature of the crime has left the community reeling and searching for answers in the aftermath of the senseless violence.

The heartbreaking loss of Robin Kaye and Thomas Deluca serves as a stark reminder of the vulnerability that can exist even in seemingly safe environments. As the investigation into the murders continues, their loved ones and the community at large grapple with the devastating reality of their sudden and brutal deaths.
